A Kentucky prisoner who authorities let out of prison to donate a kidney to his ailing son may have escaped to Mexico with his girlfriend.

A couple talked with the two at the Phoenix, AZ, airport and notified police after seeing a CNN report.

Perkins, who had served seven years for bank robbery, left behind a letter promising he would "come through" for his son Destin, 16, who needs dialysis.
